Team Updates

A weird thing happened today. I stopped for gas and when I went in to pay, they guy behind the counter liked Angelina very much. He asked her, "what is your name? Is it Keira?" I said, "My name is Keira, how did you know that?" and he said, nonchalantly, "It was just a random guess". What?! Who randomly guesses a person's name? Maybe my pregnancy brain is making me miss something obvious, but I can't figure it out. I gave him a good look in case we used to know each other, but I did not recognize him at all. He did not have my credit card yet. I wasn't wearing a nametag or anything. What the hell happened?!

Matt has been doing neat stuff at work. He has been taking Spanish and cultural business classes this week and last becuase the company bought some companies in Mexico. His boss wanted him to go there for a few days, but right when the baby is due. Sometime soon he may go to there and also to Saskatchewan. This job takes him everywhere! It is hectic though and Matt is really looking forward to taking two weeks off to spend with us when the baby comes.

Angelina has been astounding us lately with the things she knows, remembers and says. She also likes to make pee-pee in the potty. Then she stands up, anounces "pee!" and sticks her finger in the pee to prove it. What a funny girl.

Ready to go!

Should I wear the headband or the hat?

It used to be hard to convince her to wear a hat. She fell in love with this one in the store and now she wears it even inside in a warm place.

These things are wicked awesome!

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing

When we play with play dough, Angelina instructs me to make one baby out of each colour. Then she carries them around and kisses them and takes care of them.
What a sweetheart!
You're right Ang, my due date is still almost two weeks away. But the baby is completely made; the last 2-3 weeks are just to fatten up and the baby will be totally fine if born any time now.
The end of a pregnancy is torture! Not just becuase I'm severely handicapped now; it's mostly becuase we can't wait to meet our new little sweetheart.

Baby Buddies

This one's old but I just zoomed it and saw how cute it was that Deigan is holding Angelina's hand
"Yeyo Duck!" We had lots of fun on Halloween. We played with other babies and parents at a big bonfire in the park beside our house. Then we sat on the patio and watched fireworks that were also at that park.
Kissy kissy with Tyler!
Everywhere we go, we see other babies and kids and they and Angelina hug and kiss each other. It's an age thing I guess, and very sweet. Angelina is also very affectionate and kissy with all her little friends, toys, and books! And even with mama... sometimes!
I knew that Angelina was still small for her age (in some brands she still wears 6-month pants), but I had no idea she was tall! At her doctor's appointment we learned that she is in one of the top height categories. I guess it's easy to see that other babies are rounder, but hard to compare heights since they never stand still together. Slim and tall, just like daddy!
I have two and a half weeks until my due date, but I may not have to wait that long. The baby has dropped, which happens late in second pregnancies, and there are other signs. I am too pregnant to sleep now, and for the last few nights I have been having contractions. But I am really not ready! I haven't even finished packing my hospital bag. I guess I am in denial; it just doesn't seem real that any time now I will have my baby.

Happy Halloween!

Is it Wednesday already? Another week is just flying by. This is probably my last pregnancy and I am trying to savour it, but time just whips away. My due date is in less than five weeks now; I can't believe it. I will be a bit sad to not be pregnant anymore, but I also can't wait to hold my beautiful little baby in my arms and look at that sweet, pudgy little face.

Today is Halloween so we're going to a family fun event here in town. Then there will be fireworks at the beach beside our house, so we'll sit out on the patio and watch. Fun!

Our Visit to the Dinosaur Show

Stuck in the car again
Angelina wasn't sure what to think about Timbits. She took about a half hour to eat one. Kailea popped them into her mouth whole one after another. Looking at the Dinosaurs
Daddy, I don't really like this part! Crayons are more fun than dinosaurs.

Baby and the Belly

I ambushed the little one as she was waking up. Good morning sunshine!
Little Miss Muffin
Some people wanted to see a belly pic. Oops, not the best shot, but there's the belly.
Angelina loves the new baby already. She rubs and kisses my belly. What a wonderful sister she will be.
A picture of my two babes together. And Dabba too.

Smarty Pants

I haven't been teaching Angelina her colours becuase I thought she was too young. Then last week we tried asking her for her toys by colour and she picked up the right one every time. Then she picked up a yellow one and said "ya-yo" without being asked. Turns out she can say most of the colours too! And I had no freaking idea.

Seeing her soak up knowledge like she has been makes me so glad that I raise her. She learns so much and I want it to be the right stuff. I take my job very serously, and make sure her days are full and varied. If Angelina was in a daycare she would only go on an outing once a month. We are out most of the time, seeing all different people and places. And at a daycare, no one would be reading to Angelina very much. I think that with seven children for every one adult, if Angelina was in a daycare she would tend to hit and have tantrums, because that's what she would have to do to get attention. Daycares are a good thing for some kids, but not mine.

I keep wanting to go to one of these Tupperware parties. That one is like a week before my due date, so I can't be sure if I can make it, Ang. How is the wedding photography going? I tried to take a picture of the Canada butt, but this is the best I could do so far:

I'll have to try again when she is both wearing the suit and standing still. Good luck to me.

YAY!!!!

The jogging suit finally fits!!! She looks sooo cute in it! I love the butt that says CANADA... If we have a girl.... I MEAN.... when we have a little girl, you might have to hand it back down to me... I love it!! :)

Glad to hear you had a good Thanksgiving... We didn't do too much, I photographed a wedding on the saturday, so had turkey dinner there. Bryce went to his Grandmas that night. The next day we had a dinner at my moms house, which I must complain I was an hour 1/2 late for because of some meth head that wanted to jump off the bridge and had drank too much wine... "Kids, a whole bottle of methadone and a whole bottle of wine aren't good for washing down turkey dinner!" So ya, finally got off work and made it for dinner, and then Thanksgiving day, Bryce and I stayed home and watched TV, while he did school work and I worked on getting pictures edited.

What is everyone else up to??? would like to hear from you...

Does anyone want to come to a tupperware party in vernon on Nov.23??? you should come... I know, it sounds boring, I thought that before I went to sammi's on the weekend ("I said BEFORE, Sammi !! :) and then we had soo much fun..and got lots of free stuff. Our Tupperware Lady rocks! I will remind you all closer to the date as well.

My Little Pumpkin

We had another good weekend. I made a huge Thanksgiving dinner and Matt was kind enough to do all the gross parts of the Turkey, which is almost everything for the Turkey. Angelina was the life of the party. She was playing games with everyone and feeding each person veggies and dip.

Ang, remember this pretty suit that you got for Angelina before she was born?

Love at first sight. I didn't get my camera out in time but Angelina and this kid were standing inches apart, smiling at each other for a long time.

Three beautiful cousins. In a month and a half there will be almost twice as many of them.

You think I can get any of these kids to look at the camera?

Here you go, Deegy.

Turkey Days

Yay, thank you Ang. And thanks for the reminder about family, haha. Lucky you, you get to drink wine! How was your turkey day?

Our thanksgiving weekend (1 of 2) was really fun. The first night we got stood up, but that's what happens when you have plans with stoners. My sister came though and we had a good dinner. Sunday was dinner with the Garcias, which is always wild and fun with all the kids. It was also nice to spend time with Matt's sister Nicole, who is the same amount pregnant as me and her son and my daughter just love each other. Angelina follows Deigan around everywhere, even motoring up the stairs, and Deigan gives her lots of hugs and kisses.

This coming weekend some of my mom's family is coming from Calgary and I'm making the turkey dinner for the first time. I figure cooking a turkey can't be that hard, since everybody does it. That's what I used to think about giving birth though. Wow, I just compared giving birth and roasting a turkey.

Sleeping Beauty

This baby was much smaller last July!
Wow, so long and lean

This girl is amazing! Her vocabulary is huge and now she's starting to pronounce things really well. The other night she was eating broccoli and she said "broccoli" -crystal clear- three times. It is very weird to hear such a big word from such a tiny girl.

She also does the funniest things, like the other night she got up after we had all gone to bed. She went to my closet and opened it, got my nightie, put it on, and went back to bed and to sleep. I have also found her standing by the bed stroking my hair in the middle of the night. And she often puts her foot up on the bed, just her foot, so I will rub it. I love my baby, she is so much fun!
My due date is exactly two months away, December 3rd. Soon I will have two hillarious sweet little monsters, not just one. Nothing could be better than that!

Freeze!

I almost wish I could freeze time. My new baby is all big and snuggly in my tummy, and Angelina is sweeter and funner than ever. Now she is saying little sentences, like "bump daddy, bump" (when they were playing a headbutting game) or "up, mama" or the like. She's picking up new words all on her own and more than once a day she will surprise me with them. Of course I wouldn't really freeze time, since my babies will keep doing more and more fun stuff and being a part of it is amazing beyond description.

This week we went to Lindsay's party in Kelowna, had a visit and dinner with Sammi and Ang, and went to our first strata meeting. Matt is the treasurer of the building now. This weekend will be the ususal and then we have three Thanksgivings, two of them here. Oh well, three turkey dinners isn't so bad. What are you guys doing for Thanksgiving?

Three new pairs of shoes, fun!
A pretty neclace to go with the shoes
Gotta run!

I, Robot

This is what "sleeping like a baby" is
It is so hard to take a picture of the munchkin; she won't stay still. Finally I collapsed on the floor and she came over to check it out. That's how I got this picture!
Here we are, a still moment. What a sweetpea.

Of the many new things we've bought for our place, our favourite is the Roomba! Have you heard of this? It's a robot vacuum. When I go out, I just press the button and the little guy plays a cheerful little song and starts rolling around. When I come home, all the floors are thoroughly cleaned and Roomba has plugged himself back into his charger! We have the new generation one and it does so many amazing things, I couldn't believe it until I had one. It's my neat little butler-pet.

I realized recently that the new baby arrives very soon, and now it dominates my thoughts every day. I am really enjoying this pregnancy; it's at the stage now where I can play with the baby. I poke baby, baby kicks me back. Sometimes pretty darn hard! Only two months until I have to give birth again, which terrifies me. But then we'll get to know our beautiful, wonderful little baby. We'll be full family of four; itsn't that just crazy? I can't believe it myself.
