We've been asked before to refer our "non-religious" officiant. It's astounding to us, since we had a Christian ceremony. The Reverend wore a robe, told a story from the bible, blessed our marriage, and we all said prayers. Does anyone remember our wedding??

A non-religious officiant (JP) will cost about $100 I have been told. I have been to a couple JP weddings recently and the ceremony can vary alot. Do you have any preferences? Like man vs. woman, concise vs. lots of poems and readings?

Hey Ang. I see that you need someone to do you wedding and I have someone for you. She did my wedding and she is awsome. Really really great. I think you should call her and just see what she is about. She doesnèt bring in any religion and has nothign but beautiful stuff to day. she is a cute elderly women and great to work with. her number is 250-549-2352 . I would suggest her to every one. She is from Vernon and so it would work well since that is where the wedding is at. She drove down to Armstrong for our wedding. but yes. highly suggest her.

need help...

Well, we're looking to book an officiant this next week or so.... does anyone know of any good ones around?? (a comissioner, not a minister) I have a list... but don't know which of them is good. Keira... who was the guy you guy's had, how much did he cost... did you hear of any other ones that were recommended?

I swear that I will never be able to city drive. Today I was going to meet the comunity living supervisir and had an appointment at 4. I left at 2:30 to make sure that I get there ok. IÈm living in Delta and he was in Burnaby (not to far) and yeah.. I ended up at UBC.. NOT in Burnaby. I had to call the guy and get directions and he had to stay on the line with me and I was late for my apointment by 20 min. it was horrible.
But yeah I start my job soon and I am really excited. I met the resident of the house that I will be working at and they are all really neet. They were all born with specual needs and all need help in different ways. Its going to be really challenging and exciting too.
It has been beautiful here for the last couple of days. I am happy since I hate the rain and I hate rain on my glasses. I will be making enough with this job that i can get special contacts for my eyes. I can not believe how much this job pays since I donèt have any formal training. Ièm going to be doubling what I make now at COnvergys. We can afford to have our nifty little scooters. Drew and I are going in at the end of the month to get our motorbike licence and getting scooters that can go highway speeds! no more filling up the car for 50.00! but yeah thats about it.

Bubbys and Hubbys

I'm so f*ing excited too! I have been getting lots of contractions for the last five nights or so. They're not labour yet though, just practice. It will probably still be a few weeks, which is TORTURE.

I wish I could post the picture we have of her face (with her sweet fat cheeks) but it didn't turn out clearly and by the time I scan it no one will be able to decipher it.

We weren't able to finish up the baby prep on the weekend since Matt had to work the whole time. And nope, he's got nothing to do with tax season as some people have asked. People who deal with taxes are actually bookeepers.

Anyway we will do the baby/hospital preparation thing this weekend. I'll put a list of phone numbers in the hospital bag; don't worry, aunty Erin!

Matt K got a job at the spiffy new Kal Tire store in Vernon. Yay!

Hello everyone

First Kristen...Delta to North Vancouver is a long distance. I would recommend taking the skytrain and seabus. I would guess you could be in traffic for at least an hour and a half on a good day. At least you can get on the freeway and just ride it out to North Van. It all depends on the time of day if you are driving. I use to drive from Maple Ridge to Richmond everyday. I left for work at 5:00 am before rush hour started, and the drive took me only 45 mins. I left for home at 2:30 pm again before rush hour really started, and the drive took me an hour and a half. If there is some kind of accident or construction, I was in traffic for another hour or two. I would suggest looking for a place around the Burnaby/Vancouver broader and close to a bus route or skytrain.

Wow, everyones busy busy...

Robyn- The wedding is scheduled for June.30/2007 We just booked our hall yesterday... we are going with the Army and Navy hall in Vernon. And then we book the park in June. Exciting!!! ya, about the hill..... I think the beauty of the park out weighs the grandmas who have had knee replacements .... I guess that sounds really bad hey???!! No- I think they are allowed to get dropped off at the base of the lawn there and then it isn't too bad of a little hill. Didn't even think of that though... Thanks for pointing it out Keira.

Sunday is the day

Well I guess I sould check in here since there seems to be so much news with everyone eles.
I"m moving to Vancouver this weekend. Sunday to be exact. This week has been a crazy week. I'm working 12 hour shifts for overtime pay and I"m workin on my days off. On Sat my parents will be coming in to visit one last time. and on Thurs Drews family will be taking us out for dinner.
I"m getting so excited about Gina. That would have been the scariest thing in the world not feeling her move for a while. I'm glad everything went ok.
I'm pretty stressed out. I"m moving to Vancouver early to get settled. Drew is going to move down after his exams. I got a job there as a care aid worker but on call. so I'll have to find another job asap. I also need to find a new place to live asap. I"ll be couch surfing for a while.
Does anyone know of an apartment that is clean and quiet and alows animals in the Vancouver area? I'll be living in Delta for the first bit and working in North Van (no idea how far apart they are) so yeah.
I'm getting excited about nursing this fall. and Drew is excited to finnish school at SFU this year. everythign seems to be falling into place. except for the place to live and not seeing Drew for a month. But oh well. life goes on.
but yes I guess thats all the news I have for right now.

Hey Everyone.

Sorry I haven't been around much. Been really busy with school, work and everything else. I have decided to come home for the summer and cant wait to see everyone, especially the new edition, and help Ang with all the wedding plans. 3 weeks is sooo soon. Thats great you two, u must be soo happy and excited. Hope the shower went well. I saw a few pics and it looked like a great time. OMG Keira!!! 3 weeks would be SO awesome :) I'm sooo excited!! I haven't seen you in a while, and I would like to get together really soon if you're up for it. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now though :) I still have a present for your new baby and for you, when we see each other I'll give them to you. Ang, when are you getting married? I didn't know you guys had set a date or anything!! That's exciting news too! We have a lot to celebrate lately! :) I guess that's what happens we come to this age and everyone starts pairing off, getting married, and having babies LOL :)

How has everyone been doing lately? I have been fine, kinda hectic because it is assignment time (for the one distance ed class that I'm taking) and then off to the final, that is worth 55% of my mark... ugh, so I have been stressing out about that lately. Then maybe off to somewhere exotic for me!! Can't wait! What has everyone else been up to?

Countdown

Yay, three weeks! That's the same number I told Matt this morning. Let's hope your mom is right Sammi.

Matt and I are finishing up all the baby stuff this weekend: getting the last of the family baby stuff from Pat, buying the rest of the stuff that we'll need for the first few weeks, and packing our hospital bags. I'm too big and waddle-y to shop after that.

Oh yeah, we sold the car on the weekend, to the first people that looked at it and for more money than we expected. So now we're in the family car, and it's so freakin' nice.

Ang, Kaloya is beautiful. The reason we didn't pick it is becuase you have to make a bit of a hike to get to the place with the arch. It's nothing major, about five feet of slope, but the grandmas would have had too much trouble getting up there. Something to consider if you have family members who can't walk very well.

Sam, when is your Aerosmith concert? Rob, how are the travel plans coming along? Kirsten, what's up with Van? What's new everyone? This doesn't just have to be the baby blog!

My mom was reading your blog with me, and mom suggests packing your bag. Have a bag in the house and in the car; the car just in case you are out and about when you go into labour. Mom thinks you'll have Gina in three weeks.
Keira we'll have to go for lunch soon; it's been a while since our last lunch. How about next Monday for lunch around 1:00 pm? Do you think Melissa would want to join us? Get back to me if the time doesn't work for you. There is a bunch of us going to see "Ice Age (II) - Meltdown" on Friday at the Vernon theatre. I believe Ang said, we were going to go to the early show. Check Ang's blog for the correct time. I would love to see you and Matt there.

Oh Baby

We had a bit of a scare and called the doctor yesterday when the baby wasn't moving. We went in for an ultrasound today and it turns out she isn't moving so much becuase she has settled into the birth position- head down and very low- and is staying there.

An ultrasound at 34 weeks is so different than at 19 weeks! We saw baby's little face really well and even saw her eyes, open and blinking, clear as day. She has strong facial features and giant eyes, and huge fat cheeks! Her body is really fat and round too. Books and articles say the baby is just under five pounds now, but Angelina is six!

Six pounds, birth position, really low... I don't believe we will have to wait 6 more weeks.

How did the interview go Kirsten? Thanks a million for finding a BOB sign. I'll put it up as soon as I get it. My baby now sits like 2 inches from the steering wheel so even a small rear-ender would be dangerous, and people tend to drive a little crazy up here on the hill.

Not too much to report here. I won poker last night, dispite the fact that I am WAY too pregnant to still be playing... I'm usually nodding off halfway through the game. We're starting to get calls from people interested in buying our car (it just went in the paper yesterday) and with any luck it will go this weekend. Baby keeps getting bigger. She gets the hickups several times a day and they jolt me around. She also squashes me everywhere and kicks me in the ribs alot. Poor baby, she's so smooshed in there!

M&M both have the flu and are trying not to give it to Kaidyn. Speaking of M&M, Matt K found these pictures of them in our old photos. This was the first time we ever met Melissa. I think it was the summer of 2003.

We had a great weekend. We spent most of Saturday walking around car lots in Kelowna and it was so nice out, I actually got a bit of a sunburn. And yes, we got a new Sugarmobile! It's a 2001 Toyota Echo with some nice features and incredibly low kms. We're picking it up tonight. Sunday we did the bedroom and the nursery.

This week we'll be selling the other car. She's a really good car, I'll miss the old gal. But I'm looking forward to driving around in our spiffy new car and putting in the carseat and "baby on board" sign.... help, I can't find one of those! If anyone sees them please let me know. They don't seem to exist anymore!

Yep I meant Mexico, not SA. Blame the pregnancy brain, it's getting really bad. Last week I went all the way to my doctor's appointment in Kelowna only to find out I was there on the wrong day.

Robyn asked if I was more nervous about the delivery or the motherhood: neither. I used to be terrified of delivery but I find as it gets closer, I get less nervous and very excited. It must be a natural anti-terror mechanism in the brain.

A Tarzan babbydaddy could be a good choice. Rugged, outdoorsy, healthy. A british daddy would be good too! I hear New Zealand men are jerks, or was that Australian men?

Update....

hey everyone! I guess I'll give you guys an update on Drew and I.
Sam, Drew and I will be moving to east Van or Burnaby for the first little bit until Drews family can find a new enough and cheap enough place to buy for us. They are looking for a place in Delta for us.
the reason why we are moving is that Drew is going to SFU to finish his teaching Degree and I have applied to Kwantlen to take nursing though I have talked to the program coordinator and it sounds like it is a sure thing! Drew is going to be taking out a student loan and giving it to me since I still have an outstanding loan.
I also have been sending resumes off left right and center threw monster and have had 4 places call me back about different secretary jobs! also I have had a call back for here in Kamloops at a manor.
Its kinda hard because I work Sunday threw thursday and have to go down to Vancouver and schedual interviews on those 2 days. and each interview is at a total differnt part of the city.
Drew is really liking Starbucks. it helps that he is working as well. It means a little bit more money to save for the move.
Keira did you guys find a new car yet? Is there any kind of make,model and year that you are looking for. I'm sure my dad would be more than happy to help you look a bit. I could also look here for you. And what city are you going to looking for a car? Kelowna or Vancouver?

Travel and baby

OUCH! That whole process for Melissa sounds VERY painful! Holy shit! 9 lbs?! I weighed 5 lbs 4 oz, so that is crazy! So Keira, you're next, getting anxious about the delivery or more about having a new baby brought into this life? SOO glad baby is perfect!! But aren't smiles at this age just gas?!

Tell Matt I said thanks Keira, for suggesting Vegas. I have always wanted to go there, and it's not expensive at all for an all inclusive package there. I don't know if all of South America is under warning, but it would be cool to get to see Peru or something like that... hmm... I'll check into that. I know for sure that Cancun is though, and I really wanted to go there, but Cancun is in Mexico, not South America :P... Hmm Costa Rica sounds awesome! I could find myself a Tarzan there you mean :P and we could live in a hut and have sweet babies LOL. You have quite the imagination I must say, Keira. OMG going to the LOTR places doesn't sound geeky at all!! I totally want to!! I have a friend who moved there, so I could just stay with her. I have been doing some hard thinking about that. I'm not sure the shire would still be up, cause all those "doors" were manmade I think, but holy hell, I could see it all!! :) Hmm the UK sounds nice too. I have never looked into places to go and stuff there, and you make all your suggestions sound so awesome. THANKS so much for the suggestions, I will research them all.

Melissa started having regular contractions at about 6:30 pm on Saturday while out to dinner with us. We timed and recorded every single contraction until 12:30. At that point they slowed down to every 10 minutes so M&M went home to sleep in their own bed. Matt called at 6:00 a.m. to say they were on their way to the hospital and this time really seriously in labour. So there were 8 hours of labour, not counting the 12 hours of contractions that were not serious enough to go to the hospital. The baby was not delivered via c-section, but she was huge and had to be pulled out, and Melissa has countless stitches. Daddy watched the whole thing and was the first to hold the baby. Melissa had a fever and had to stay in the delivery room for 3 more hours and be monitored. Baby is perfect! She even gave us a little cabbage-patch smile when we came to see her.

Robyn, Matt says if you can't do Mexico then do Vegas. Is it just Cancun that is under warning, or is it all of South America? What about Costa Rica? They have awesome jungles there that you can Tarzan through. I say go far far away. You were talking about New Zealand... then you could see the LOTR places! You could visit the fucking Shire! Or maybe you're not a huge nerd like me. Anyway I would go to the UK, they have the most amazing stuff all over the place and you can get package deals where you go to all five countries and see everything. And you can go to London and take the chunnel to Paris for the day and stuff. And you can sleep in a haunted castle and see Stonehenge and marry prince William.

Keira.... if you are the same size as Melissa was when she was due, how big is Angelina going to be do you think???!!! WOW! (i mean OWW!) hey... we may be playing poker at our house on Friday night... have a couple new people... give us a call... hopefully you can come.

Kaidyn is so precious! She's really fat and has her daddy's exact nose and mama's lips, and a little bum chin! M&M also have lots of pictures of course. They might come over on their way home from the hospital, hopefully today. My Matt is so sweet, he made them a frozen meal to bring home so that they wouldn't have to cook as much this week.

I have 6-8 weeks left, but now we're getting REALLY excited. Angelina's getting really big now and when she pushes her feet out I can feel her feet, bum and head all poking out in different places. Morning sickness is back, unfortunately, and I never know which days I'm going to throw up or be really queasy. And I'm still too busy, with tons of family stuff and lots of work. My last ultrasound was postponed so I still don't know whether I'm actually supposed to be on bedrest. We're also shopping for a new car, the clock's ticking! Matt finished another gruelling CGA exam on the weekend and is now on his third-to-last course, yay!

Hello Everyone ~ It's been forever since I've blogged. Glad to hear that things are going well for each of you. I'm doing alright......I've been going thru a really tough time emotionally with another sickness in my family but my family and I are managing (Mom's side). Other than that just enjoying life in the fast lane like normal. The weather is driving me insane in Vancouver this year though.....last week we had about 7 inches of snow, then we got a couple days of sunshine and this morning it's raining!

lol I'm getting antsy for little Gina to be born. I actually got a chance to see Keira this weekend. we went for a nice breakfast at the hotel most people had prom at (no idea what it is called). wow she is so pretty with her round tummy!
I also have some news about Drew and I. Drews parents have decided to buy us a place in Vancouver! We will be moving in May! I have been applying for all sorts of jobs already. I'm so excited.

Hey guys,
I'm just seeing if blogging works for me now. I had to change my name and stuff because for some reason that me and Keira are still trying to figure out, it was bugged.

I have also been quite busy lately. I was supposed to be in Mexico for 6 months right now, but plans changed at the last minute because of two of my other friends so I am trying to plan another trip somewhere else. Anyone have any neat suggestions? I was thinking Cancun at first, but apparently I can't go there because of hurricane warnings. So I don't know... I was thinking Tofino or Las Vegas. Anyone been to either of these?

Also, I'm glad the shower went well :) and Keira, I still have a present for you.

How exciting! Melissa told me all the weird details about the labour and the hospital and such. I'm still glad I have at least another 6 weeks, even though of course I'm excited to have our baby born. I haven't done all the reading and prep that Melissa has yet, so hopefully I will be cool and calm as her when it's closer to delivery time.

Poor aunty Laura. Hopefully she will be feeling better in time for Kaidyn's birth. Every time the phone rings I expect it to be Matt calling from the hospital to say the baby is coming!

Kirsten asked about cravings and I never answered: that's just a stereotype. Some women get cravings apparently, but it's not like on TV where they're waking their husband up at 3 am to go to the store. Anyone who could do that would be very spoiled and would get very fat! Most of the stuff we all think we know about pregnancy is false, and the stuff that actually happens is unknown to non-preggers.

Early Labour for Melissa!!!

Hey everyone....seeing as NO one posts...i'll post once again.....Matt and Melissa came to kelowna LATE sat night as melissa was in early labour.....i guess they hooked her up to a contraction machine and all that jazz....but things weren't happening all that fast so they sent her home (toi my place) they stayed all day sunday and sunday night and i think if nothing has changed they are heading back to salmon arm today....probably only to race on back here in a couple days....but her doc said she'd be more comforatble in her own home.....so it was a close call and we were all hoping for the baby to pop out......but nothing yet.....oh and here's an update on my mom....

Laura has been struggling with a cold and sore throat all week, and Sunday morning had some chest pain, so we went to the hospital where, after
about 3 hours, she was diagnosed with pneumonia. It is one spot in one lung, so not too serious, although the doctor said her lungs sounded
awful. She has been prescribed Moxifloxacin for 10 days, and was told to recover at home because of the superbug at the hospital. They don't want
her to be a patient at the hospital unless she gets really short of breath.

She also has a bit of an infection on her PICC line, which they swabbed and will culture over the next few days. I have to take her in today and
get her PICC dressing changed. Thankfully I am off work today and have no problem doing this.

Still no granddaughter yet.....perhaps she is waiting until Grandma feels a bit better......

Hello!

I have been extremely busy the last couple weeks, with work, lots of birthdays, family stuff, the shower, appointments, etc, etc. I'm too pregnant to be running around like a maniac, so I've become quite sick.

I tried to blog the other day but the computer was down because of the power outage that struck Salmon Arm through Vernon. Anyone know what happened there?

The shower was wonderful, thanks to everyone! The games were fun, the gifts were generous, and the food was delicious. The baby's room is starting to look more like a baby's room now. I put all the little outfits on hangers in the closet and carebears on the shelf and the dresser is full with baby stuff.

Matt was in Toronto for a week and we are sooo glad he's back. When he got back he won the month-end tourney at Winnies for the second consecutive time. On Friday we have another ultrasound, and on Saturday Matt writes another CGA exam. The end of all his gruelling work is approaching, slowly but surely (this fall).

I couldn't be more thankful!!!

I just wanted to say a quick THANK YOU to everyone that came to the shower and was so generous with their gifts. I couldn't believe how many there were!!! I'm not about to list off names because I know I'd forget somebody (thanks mom for the horrible memory) but Thank You cards will be coming soon. I'm going to wait about a week to see if Kaidyn wants to show up, because then I can do Thank You cards as well as birth announcements. But if she still wants to hold things up, I'll get on those bad boys. So a big Thank You for all the WONDERFUL presents and a HUUUUUGE thank you to Erin for putting that whole thing together. She should seriously be an event planner or something, because everything was perfect, I couldn't have hoped for a better baby shower!!!

Wow, where is everyone???

So yah, I have been off on WBC for the last week and now the doctor says I can't go back to work for at least another week.... It means I can come to the shower now though, so I am excited!!!!

Hey guy's, Back from Mexico... had a great time!
The part that sucks though is that I have to work the day of the shower and can't really get out of it :( I really wanted to come because I had to work for Keira's wedding shower too. I will be able to make it the next morning for Brunch though.... Does anyone know where we are going yet and what time?? Can I just bring my gift for you then, Keira??

Keira, don't know if you and Matt got the invite or not, or if you want to come, but we are having a get together on March 4th at 1pm for a shower for Monica. Nothing really big, because she has already had a big shower with her family and all, but we can hang out and visit and see the baby. It will be potluck lunch/snacks and then we will open gifts. Hope you can come.

Mmmm I just made a really nice looking lemon Meringue pie.. my parents are coming down for the first time together. getting a little nervious though they are both laid back people. not sure how they will like all the animals running about. We'll be babysitting Drews parents place for 2 weeks so I"ll be living there! I can't wait to use there BBQ.

Things to do before i die...

Okay, brace yourselves, but one of the things I have to do before I die is go down in a shark cage!!! (It just go's hand in hand with what I wanted as my dream career - to be a Marine Biologist). I love the ocean and think Sharks are such magnificant animals. Unfortunately I don't even think I will be able to convince Bryce to go scuba diving with me :( one of the other things I want to do is go to either Costa Rica or another third world country and work with some of the orphanages and hospitals...Bryce and I had a chance and were ready to go last year through world vision but then had a big financial blow.... so I was pretty close to crossing that one off my list.

Thank Erin, for the shower invite... I am so excited.... unfortunatly I am scheduled to work all that day until 6pm, but I will try to trade my shift with someone...seeing I didn't get to go to her wedding shower either!!!
I do have the next morning off though, for Birthday Brunch, so if not then I will see you all then.

25 and 33

I got the shower invite in the mail a couple days ago, thanks for sending me one Erin. It's so pretty! The shower is still a month away but I'm totally excited. I'm looking forward to hearing the aunties' stories about my cousins when they were babies. And all the good food. Mmmmm, potluck. Brunch on the 27th sounds good too! Mmmm, brunch.

I won another poker game on Tuesday and now I get to be in a final tournament March 1 where the prize is a trip to Vegas! Matt still has a chance to qualify and I'm sure he will. Last night was brutal though. Me, Matt and Matt got 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place (twice!) instead of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Okay I guess that doesn't sound too bad, but it totally was. I was bad.

I think it's silly to worry so much about the Conservatives. Even if Harper is pro-life, an anti-abortion law (and such things) would never be passed, no chance, it's not even worth thinking about at all. The Conservatives are just barely in there and they won't be able to change anything drastically anyway. The Liberals are totally f*ed up. If we had elected Liberal again, wouldn't that be just about as stupid as the Americans voting Bush in again? We're smarter than that.

Yay Aerosmith! I never cared for concerts but I had something on my life-list that I crossed off on the honeymoon: to ride a rollercoaster. It was freaky-deaky. Hey I am not a total nerd, I just have only lived in tiny towns and never been anywhere where there was a rollercoaster. Most of my list is places in the world that I want to see. What do you guys have on your lists?

We were a little late telling Dave about the pregnancy, but of course we did, last fall! Maybe we'll take a trip to Van this year and show off our little puddin'pop. I should ask the daddybear before I make promises like that though. Or was that a threat?

Well, we were dumb again and didn't get Melissa's pic off her camera even though she brought it. We took another one though. I look sooooo weird in it and Melissa looks alot smaller than she is because of her angle (she's actually way bigger than me). But we could barely convince one of the Matts to get up and take one picture, let alone two. Maybe next week will be more successful. Anyway here we are at 25 and 33 (!!!!) weeks.

Hello Everyone!
I want to start off my blog with very exciting news - I AM GOING TO THE AEROSMITH CONCERT IN APRIL!!!! WOOOHOOOOO!!! Now that I've got that out of my system I'll explain why all the excitement besides the obvious.....Do any of you have that one person or group that you've got to see in concert before you die???? Well Aerosmith is mine! I had tickets about 4 or 5 years ago to see them but for some reason they cancelled due to not be allowed to cross the Canadian border from the USA. So this is why I am excited I am getting a second chance at making one of my life wishes come true. Yippee!
In regards to Key's bday - The more the merrier so it's great that you can make it Sammi!
Key - I don't have the information in front of me so don't quote me but I'm pretty sure I leave around 1:10pm on the 27th so I would have to be at the Vernon Greyhound by 12:45. So maybe brunch would be best?
Key- Sorry I didn't call you on Wednesday that night ended up being a gong-show. I'll try and give you a call next week if that works.....I'm home Monday or Thursday, either of those work or are they both poker nights? How'd you do in your last poker game? Win the big bucks?
Middle Names - Very cute names Melissa however I've been given two different spellings for Christina can you clarify? Thanks Doll! Key go with whatever name you and Matt like - I thought Rose was beautiful as you know when you first told me and I also like the idea of carrying down Jade. Whatever you choose - people will like (they'll have no choice! haha!). Just let me know whenever you've got it figured out.

The Election - As happy that I am with the party that got voted in my jurisdiction - I agree with Sammi about the whole Conservatives running our country thing. It frustrats me! Did any one see the comments from Rosie O'Donnell about the Canadian Gov't? Overall though - I hope that a minority government doesn't cause us to go back to the polls in 18 months.

For the shower games, one can be play during the whole shower. Then I'll have 2 actual shower games. If the games go by quickly, I'll have an extra back-up.

I'm not too impressed about the conservatives winning, but I do believe it was a good idea for Paul Martin to resign. With all the players of the Liberal scandal out of the picture, I believe the Liberals will win in the next election (in a year or two probably).
I liked Paul Martin as a Prime Minister. Martin didn't cave when George Bush applied pressure about Canada supporting the war, and he kept working at getting Canada's debt down. I'm not a liberal voter, but I do agree Martin did a pretty good job as Prime Minister. The scandal came from Chrétien's run as Prime Minister; although, Martin was the Finance Minister at the time.
I just hope Harper doesn't pull a 'Brian Mulroney' by digging Canada into a huge debt hole, or take away a same sex couple's right to marry, or take away a women's right to choose. I am somewhat interested about the fact Harper is from the West, and he plans to focus more on the West then other Prime Ministers. Ok, enough politics talk for me.

Keira and Matt - I'll see you at the poker game on Thursday night unless my work schedule changes. I'll be snowboarding Friday night again if anyone is interested...$ 5.00 fridays at Silver Star!! The conservatives won but with a minority government, so there will probably be another election within 2 years again. NDP increased their seats as well so the Liberals kind of got their ass kicked and Paul Martin resigned as leader of the liberal party.

I think you're right Sam, this will be the first time we've ever been together for my birthday! Weird. Let me know what time your bus leaves and we'll make that date. The morning of the 26th probably won't work becuase Melissa and I are going to a preggo event in Kelowna before the shower.

I don't have a theme, unless cute counts! Kaidyn's middle names are Christina Jean (aww), but you'd better take Melissa's word not mine. And Angelina's middle name is not decided (but it's not Jade- but yes AJ is cute). Just becuase people had mean things to say about my favourite name doesn't mean it won't be her name. I'll get back to you ASAP.

I agree that 5 games sounds like it might be too many, unless they're going on at the same time as everything else (like the don't say "baby" game). Presents always take a long time but in this case there are TWO of us opening presents.

This week it will be hard to catch me on the phone since we'll be at poker tonight, Thursday, and Friday. Friday is a big-money game with real players. So yeah I guess that leaves Wednesday!

rob has been working all this past weekend and probably continuing all this week to help his boss get the darn house finished.....there are still some minor things to do, but they seem to be time consuming......they spent like 6 hours yesterday cutting window trim and placing it where it belongs...today they are working all day and probably night doing the rest of hte base boards and doors and closet doors which rob spent all weekend painting......then they need to get the handles put on all the drawers and cupboards, the closets need shelving and a closet rack thingy.....and the appliances have to be put in......oh and the sinks still have to go in....the toilet and shower got hooked up yesterday...so there is still a fair bit of work to be done in order for us to move in on sunday.....yikes..i'm soooo excited!!!

Days Going By So Quickly....

Hello Everyone!
I realized this morning when I was reading my 3 main blogs that time has passed by so quickly - I guess all those times when we were younger and our older family members told us to enjoy the time now cause as we get older time goes by faster was true.....but still, I can't believe January is almost done.
I'm glad to see that Melissa and Key's shower is moving along smoothly it feels weird that for once in my life I have nothing to do with such an exciting event.....I think by doing that my excitement for the whole ordeal is heightened.
My plan as of now is to come up to Kelowna a few days before the shower to spend some time with one of my best friends who recently moved there and also finish my baby shopping - I have started but nothing big as you can only take so much on a Greyhound Bus. My trip up to the great Okanagan will be from February 22 -27.
Key - Not sure what time I am leaving on the 27th but let's do a birthday breakfast or lunch for you that day before I leave. I think this is the first time in our lifes together that I will actually be able to see you on your birthday. What'd you think? Anyone else who lives in Vernon or can get to Vernon up for bday breaky or lunch?
Key & Melissa - I haven't checked the registry yet but are either of you doing themes for your baby room? Also, what is/if you know the exact name of your daughters?? Kaidyn Jean Keough and Angelina Jade Garcia(oooh we could call her AJ for short! so cute!)?? Please let me know....

Babies and Poker, as Usual

Melissa and I both registered at Babies-R-Us yesterday. You can see the registries online; of course you shouldn't buy that way becuase then you have to pay shipping. Cousin Matt was super nice to drive us there and be patient while we took 2 hours looking at all the baby stuff. We did send him away though, when he tried to pick out a breast pump for us. Haha!

Melissa, you should check out your registry online if you haven't already. Mine had stuff added to it (like a $350 crib!!!) and all of the pink stuff showed up as blue or yellow. I fixed it all except it still says I want yellow receiving blankets.

Looking forward to poker tonight. Sammi, Ang (well, next time) and anyone else who is interested, it is at SW's and we will get there a touch after 5 so we can have $5 appies before the game. M&M are coming too, then back to our place for Earl and The Office. Woohoo!

Babygirl is getting bigger and stronger and you can see my tummy bouncing around a bit when she's active. She likes to hit me in some reeeallly uncomfortable spots, especially when I'm trying to fall asleep or keep my poker face.

I'm off to buy an iron; ours is busted which leaves Matt shirtless for work. The ladies would like to see him that way I'm sure, but that's not really accountant-like. Congratulations Sugarbear, 17 days smoke-free!

I have been here there and everywhere, busy, busy!! Work has picked up with all the highs and lows of the holidays and there are a lot of people coming down with that dreaded Flu too... Make sure you Preggers stay healthy!!! Have had a mystery health scare pop out of no where with myself as well, and well Bryce and I totally know what it is like to do the 3 family shuffle during the holidays. Hope you all had a great New Years... I know Sammy did!! :) Keira- love the ultra sound picture!! What is the big long thing going off to the left? Umbilical cord? Can't wait to meet her! Monica should be having her baby any day now... I think she is due on the 20th. I am up for poker night too, but not this week cause I work both days. Bryce and I went when they first started and it was really fun....except for "that Woman"- you know who I mean!! :)

I am absolutely working on this, trust me I am not ignoring it. Last night we went to Walmart and I could not find a single thing on my list of things to register for. They didn't even have babysitter pillows, cloth diapers or those bouncy chairs that babies spend most of their time in.

I just want to actually see the places so I can make a decision. I will tell you ASAP. If the invitations go out this week, that is still almost 6 weeks before the shower which is plenty, plenty, plenty of time.

I am working Sunday Jan 15th, but I am free Thursday night at 6:00 pm. I will be at poker on Thursday Jan 19th. What time do you leave for poker? Is it at Sir Winnies?
Keira and Melissa could still register at Babies R Us (part of toys R us), and you can verbally tell people who live in Kelowna or area that you're registered at 'Babies R Us' as well. I like options. Plus, it gives you something to experience as a 'Mom-to-be'.

Confusion

Melissa just told me that she wrote that blog before reading Erin's blog about the invites being done. Melissa and I have been deciding whether to register at Walmart instead of BRU. But BRU is now already on the invitations, am I right? If that is the case then we will go ahead and register at BRU on Wednesday as planned.

I think that in my case I'll ask for diapers (cloth or plastic) from people who can't go to Kelowna or do a joint present or pickup with someone who can.

Sammi, poker is Thursdays at 6 and Sundays at noon, and we are looking at other pubs on other nights too. Can you come? That would be totally fun.

just real quick.....

#1: i'm starting to think that walmart WOULD be a better choice to do our registries at just because it wouldn't be so confusing for people. just with the babys r us registry, people can log on to the website and look at what's on our lists and then go get them at say walmart or whatever, that's just where i was going with that. but maybe the same can be done for the walmart registries. Babies-R-Us is inside Toys-R-Us on the main highway in Kelowna.

There was no question about how the gifts get to us, but I just checked the website and it said that when you order online, you either enter your address or if you don't then it will ship to us.

I sent along what belly pictures I had but Melissa has some of the two of us from last weekend. Melissa, can you send those to me too?

At the Sunday Pub Poker Matt and I got 1st&2nd place and on Thursday we got 3rd&4th. Matt and Melissa are coming with us to this Sunday's game.

Alrighty girlies.....invitations are done, now i just have to get them sent out! hahaha.....Keira u need to get ur registry going, i found melissa's on there and i've included the babies r us website on the invitation so people can go there or visit......no one answered me on HOW the gifts get to you girls if they order them online........thats the reason i suggested wal mart or the bay as it was more reachable for most people....but let me know cause its on there now......

its finalized.....the combined baby shower WILL be held at Aunty Colleens, on Sunday Feb 26th at 2pm!!!

i'll be getting those invitations out here pretty quick.......

ALSO.......just a thought......dont u think it'd be better to REGISTER at a place where most people live in that town? for example Walmart or The bay...cause not very many people get to kelowna that often.....just a thought.....and PRICES are more reasonable at those two stores.........and WHERE THE HECK IS BABIES R US???? just a thought......it'd be easier on a lot of people i think.......but let me know ASAP so i can include that in the invites!!

and i thought of just including an item for someone to bring as a potluck/appy sorta thing...it'll mostly be snacky finger foods (fatty i know) but with two preggo's i'm sure they'll eat ANYTHING! hahaha just buggin...

First of all - Key I am alive!! Hahaha! Sorry I haven't been in contact for awhile.

Baby Shower Plans - So I need to know the official set in stone date for Key and Melissa's shower asap so I can book the time off work (is the 26th a for sure date?)....my unofficial plan is to come up 2 or 3 days before and stay in Kelowna with my friends Leah & Dave - then come to Vernon for the shower (stay at Keiras or Aunt Colleens) and spend an extra day or two there.....so as you can tell I need to tell work when I will be missing all these working days! Teehee!!

Baby Shower Help - Not sure what I can do from down here but am willing to help Erin & Sammi out if needed. Erin I will email you today with some ideas......Sammi what is your email address??

Christmas/New Years - Merry (belated) Christmas & Happy (belated) New Years to everyone!! Hope you all had a naughty but safe one! For those who don't know I went off to Medicine Hat, Alberta for 5 days and Calgary, Alberta for 2 days. It was a great trip and wonderful to see my Mom and step Dad......the surprising thing about the trip was that the weather was waaay better and warmer there than it is here in Vancouver - weird eh?

Congrats Matt on quitting smoking!! How many days are you at now?

Okay....Baby Shower Plans...

Ok so i need some help! hahahaha i offered but dont wanna do it all myself, so who wants to help? and i need some details cause first we should get the important things in order such as

Date, Time, Place, who brings what (potluck/appy's is a good idea like Keira's Wedding Shower) Sunday is obviouly probably the best day i'd say for almost everyone.......so i'm thinking sunday Feb 26th, that is depending on when Sam is here and all that jazz....so KEIRA AND MELISSA u need to get back to me on this so i can start the Invitations.....Oh and i'll need a list of people u'd like there (friends, family ect.) and addresses if possible....and anything else u wanna let me know....otay......oh ya, we were thinking, shouldn't assume this but maybe we should hold the shower at aunty colleens or keira's dad's? seeing as they is pretty central and have big enough houses to hold most everyone.....so let me know what u think girls....

Okay Then...

I didn't think anybody cared that much, since I do most of the blogging. But yes ma'ams, I will keep it up. You frickin' too though! We want to know about our cousins', sisters', neice & nephew's, and friends' lives too.

December flew by sooo fast. Matt and I both worked all the time and went out most nights, and smack in the middle were a few days of jamming in family Christmas stuff. We were really glad to get to spend some time with extended family on both sides.

Life will be a dream for the next couple of weeks since our neighbours have gone away. I can't even describe what a relief that is. Kind of like being let out of prison I guess.

End of February has always been the (one and only) plan for the shower, becuase that's when Sam is coming. Erin, I for one would be thrilled if you did that stuff.

Everyone congratulate Matt, he has quit smoking! Today is day four of the rest of his healthier, more pleasant-smelling life.

Baby Shower???

Hello all out there.......people are getting lazy.....hhahaha i hate not seeing new blogs, i get soooo excited when new things are posted...especially pictures!!! lol

so question bout "THE" baby shower and whats going on with that, cause last i heard melissa and keira were planning it, and that shouldn't happen...ur not supposed too ur friends and family are supposed to plan everything for stuff like that....and well we are approaching January 6th here pretty quick and sooner or later it'll be february and this household will be quite busy come that time....with moving and everything....also sam will be down at the end of feb and i thought thats maybe when this duel shower was going to take place...so LET ME KNOW.....i'd like to do the invitations so if anyone has any objections please let me konw...and in order to do those i need the info from "the mothers to be" and if we ARE having it at the end of Feb we need to get ON IT!!! hahahaha.....ok so ya let me know asap......

Happy New Year

Here we are at 21 weeks, just before Christmas. Me & Gina went to the doctor yesterday and she said we are in excellent shape. The placenta is low though, so I will have to get another ultrasound after 30 weeks to see if there will be problems with that. No need to worry yet.

I should have done this yesterday (Jan 1), but I was 'out of service' due to some drinking and toking the night before. On to Auntie Bo's 2006 predicts (via Sammi's amazing psychic abilities)...

I predict some exciting arrivals this year for Melissa, then Kiera, and then Tara. These arrivals will be costly but worth every penny!
No arrivals and no getting drunk for Auntie Bo (thank god for that).

I wish everyone 'All the best for 2006'. I'm sure I will see some of you sometime this year.
