Drinkin' and Talkin'

I'm not really a fake nail type but I guess I ought to have pretty hands if people are looking at my ring. Thanks Erin. Now convince Matt to have his chewed up nubs filed smooth.

As far as being mic shy, that's a weird change! Anyway, remember that there are only like 30 people and that aside from team sugar you are the person who knows the most guests. Kirsten asked me to do a speech at hers so I know how you feel. It doesn't have to be overly mushy or formal, just whatever you want. Oh, a little bell is going off in my head... there are sections of books in bookstores with sample speeches/toasts; everything from mushy to limericks. The internet may be of some use as well.

What's more, if the speeches are after dinner, everyone except Matt's mom will be somewhere between tipsy and fall-down drunk.

Profile

P.S. I beefed up our profile too.

Birthday/Music/Grandma

Thanks Erin! The after-dinner part of my birthday was the funnest; too bad you couldn't stay. P.S. I got Trivial Pursuit 90's edition, so when any of you come over that's what you're getting roped into.

I was totally excited about Dave's music collection. But the more I think about it, the more I think that folks won't dance to it. You pretty much need to know how to swing dance for it, right? So I have an idea: what if we played that type of music during dinner and then switched over to the boring usual stuff after? Maybe we could intersperse a little into that part too.

Last night my grandma went on a date with a man at her nursing home. Isn't that heartwarming?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEIRA!!!

Why Hello there......well i just caught up on everything and FINALLY have some time to write a blog! keira i hope all went well with ur FAMILY b-day dinner......i had a good time last night even tho it was only for a couple hours....great food! rob LOVES that place now! N e ways......BRIDESMAIDS.....i took Saturday the 26th off (easter weekend) so we NEED to do the dress shoppin then....hoipefully we can all meet up.....i went to the mall today but didn't have any luck finding anything blueish :-( so hopefully we have better luck when we go....and yes we all need to get togehter and find out who's doing wut and all that jazz.....as for speeches i'm mic shy, but i've become BETTER at talking on a mic as i have to at the bowling center...lol...doesn't mean i wanna volunteer myself...just saying it may be possible....i may stutter! hahaha....n e ways its probably best to let me know if we wanna get pedi's and or mani's the day before....keira i can also do the french gel nails if ur interested.....and anyone else....oh.....if u havn't picked the salon yet.....my salon is $26.95 for a shampoo, cut, blowdry.....and would be about $30-$40 for an updo....so thats another option, if not already decided on.....hummm...wut else.......i guess thats it......keep me posted and i'll do the same....ttfn

~Erin~

music

I filled out my profile like a good boy.

Just a thought about music... I have a collection of Big Band/Swing that we could mix in there, which would be along the same vein, but a little more uptempo, for dancing...

More and More

Here's my first blog since that gigantic one... I was both recuperating and waiting for some feedback. Anyway on Friday Tanya and I met with a few florists and chose a really great one. We also got my wedding shoes (nice flat comfy ones) and Tanya modeled a few potential bridesmaid dresses. She will send the pictures or post them on the blog. Thanks Tanya, for the help and for my birthday lunch! I wish you all could have come to my party last night; it was fun.
I'm not sure what we're doing for music except that we both really like the Rat Pack so we want to play their stuff. I don't know if we should just stick to that genre or have just a big mix. Matt has no opinion on the subject, which means I better get one I guess. Can people dance to Rat Pack style music (i.e. Frank Sinatra et al)?
Dave, thank you for offering to do the invitations. We're thinking it only needs to be really simple; something we could print off on our printer on fancy paper. Like on one page, to look like a scroll? We are the invitors (not our parents) and we're not 100% sure of the time yet. We'll call you.
Billi Boi got a job and has been working lots... yay Bill! I'm proud of you.
It just occurred to me as I wrote that, that not all of you know that Bill is my sister Jillian. Maybe you each want to fill out your profiles with some info about who you are? You guys won't all meet face to face until a day or two before the wedding! Also, we want to include a little bio/info of each of you on our program. I'll need a thumbnail picture for that too.
Sam, hope you are feeling better this week and hope to hear from you soon.
Wow this one's getting long and I had more to write, like in answer to other blogged questions. Is there really so much to say or am I just a blabbermouth?
Here they are in short form:
  • Registry: at the Bay. Shows up online already but we have to choose our stuff still
  • Baker: one was recommended to me by the florist
  • Lilacs: Sam's allergic
  • All of our email addresses are listed in settings:members
  • Bill, who is Nicole? Garcia? She's not on here silly
  • Dresses/vests: some shade of blue or lavender
  • Quality guy time: the morning of the wedding? (plus other times of course)

Idea

wow keira good blog haha that covers alot and lets me know a little bit of what to do and such, Anyways, i think all the bridesmaids should get together when sam is in town, after shoppin or something, and discuss whos gonna do what and all that fun stuff. holy shat...we only got 2 more months now, i guess spring break is the time when it will all fall together....ummm whats an MC?

To Do List

Thanks for the invite, I may take you up on it and come up for a weekend sometime, to help out.

A speach I can do, although it will pretty much be my first attempt at public speaking, so don't expect greatness...

Keira, don't worry you didn't sound like a bitch, I understand, my family is... special... too.

What kind of music are you guys thinking?

Invitations

I could design your invitations if you like.

What to Do

Ok, Matt's off doing other things but we had promised to talk about duties today since some of you have been asking what you're supposed to do.

Everybody
First of all, it's very easy to find online lists of which bridal party members are supposed to do which things. I just found a nice, easy-reading set here: http://www.frugalbride.com/weddingparty.html ladies, remember to read both "bridesmaids" and "MOH" (I'll talk about this in a sec) Dave is the Best man, Nolan is the Groom's man. Another site to check out is http://theknot.com/keywords/ch_209.shtml?HP=content_wedparty . Although the who-does-what list is confusing, this site seems to have absolutely everything a wedding party would want to know (game/party ideas, etc, etc). Anyway, these sites are two of the big popular ones and there are zillions more of course. PS read them with a grain of salt. For example, in my opinion you don't need to do formal invitations for the bridal shower.

Parties
It is up to you if/when/how to throw any pre-wedding showers/parties etc., and we won't nose in but there are a few things that are important to mention. First of all, it's impolite to invite anyone to pre-wedding stuff who is not also invited to the wedding. P.S, we looooove cheesy party games. Remember not to plan the bachelor/bachelorette parties the night before the wedding; we've got plans for all of us already. Finally, and most importantly, there are to be no strippers of any sort. That's not a joke, we're dead serious, please respect our wishes.

Speeches
First you'll need this background info: the wedding guests are made up of four distinct groups; each group will hate the others. My family, as the result of a messy divorce, is actually two enemy camps. Both are drunks and neither is happy about the smallness of this wedding. Then there's Matt's family, who don't care about the wedding and will look waaaaay down on my family. The last group is the people we actually want to have there: our friends (yourselves included). There are even more divisions and complexities of which some of you know. Note to Dave: I might have sounded like a bitch just now, but it's all true. Anyway, because we want to loosen everybody up, we want to have several icebreaker-type games. Now I'll actually get to the point!

Dave: hope you're happy about giving a speech! Nolan: you will have the choice of giving a speech, leading the crowd in a game, or both. Ladies: ditto, and hopefully it will work out that at least two of you do a speech.

You all are familiar with icebreakers, right? They are a miracle. We'll use our favourite one after the ceremony and we can help you find a good one if that's what you want to do. And by speeches, we mean you can do a speech, a reading, or tell some groovy stories of days gone by. I already know Bill has some stories to tell as well as a perfomance with Jodi!

In summary; we want as much activity as possible to keep everyone distracted and happy.

Men
You guys will have to work out the tux rental/cleaning/ring schedule etc. and this is Matt's area. Hopefully he will surface from his hole one of these days.

Ladies
You all are my very nearest and dearest since forever, and I couldn't choose just one of you to be the Maid of Honour. In my opinion I have four. That said, it has become obvious from looking over the duties that there are some duties that are more prominent, involved, or ceremonious. For example, only one of you can present the ring at the ceremony, only one signs as a witness, etc.

What's more, some of you may actually want to be really involved in planning the parties, helping me with the preparations etc. and some may only want to be in on some parts. You might want to appoint one girl to be the ringleader and organize everybody's efforts, set dates, call the others etc. Or, you could divvy up the tasks and have one lady be the "boss" of each. Otherwise, everybody is sort of aimless.

You guys should talk this over and decide who does what. I don't want to say "Erin, do this; Tanya, do this; etc", but if you want me to I can.

To Do (Everyone)
Here's some of the stuff we still have to do. We can do some of this stuff ourselves, but help is always appreciated and some of you have been asking. We've done the hard parts, but here's some of what's left:
  • Buy decorations, design centrepieces
  • Flowers (Keira and Tanya)
  • Re-viewing location and choosing/booking last details
  • Choosing the food
  • Music: making CDs
  • Music: choosing the aisle walk/ man and wife song
  • Bridesmaid dresses (Ladies, Easter weekend)
  • Other bridesmaid attire
  • Pre-wedding beauty stuff (Matt needs a manicure, too!)
  • Tux rentals
  • Finish registration (Matt and Keira)
  • Choose/book honeymoon (Matt and Keira)
  • Parties: shower, bachelor(ette) etc. (bridal party)
  • Finding a yummy cake
  • Delivering cake, flowers, decorations etc to the site
  • Designing/making invitations and programs
  • Scouting out the exact location of the photo shoot
  • Creating the ceremony (what readings, what format, how long)
  • Bodyguards (watch the families)
  • Details like how to make us kiss
  • Day before the wedding: make boutaneers and boquets?
  • A reception plan: when do we do speeches, when do we do this/that/the other thing
  • Will one of you be MC?
  • All of those duties listed on the sites I gave you at the top of this blog: which of you are doing which parts (bridal party)

Anyway there is still more to discuss (holy shit) but I am getting sooo tired of typing and your eyes are probably bugging out right now.

It never stops amazing me that even though this wedding is so tiny and we have left out so much traditional stuff and I am completely unfussy about it, it's still takes an astounding amount of time and effort to make what most guests will probably consider to be a dinner with some other stuff.

Flowers

the tulip idea sounds awesome, tulips are a pretty flower, Lilacs are another idea, their in bloom in spring, and grow everywhere, has keira thought of what kind of bouquet she wants when shes walking down the isle? Art Knapps might have some wedding bouquets set up, and oh yes, before i forget, for table cloths, you dont have to go all hardcore on them, theres some at my work that are durable and not too expensive, keira you should visit me at work this weekend and ill show you some of the stuff we have. nicole! i lost your number and i havnt seen you online latley need to talk to you! Did anyone have in mind where to get some nice shoes for the bridesmaids? Keira has some cute, flat black ones with a flower in the corner on the front and i see their still in stock at Payless, their in multiple colours too, so theres an idea to keep in mind....but i guess we gotta get the dresses before we get the shoes...Anyways, is Erin doing all our makeup or just Keiras? Another idea is transpertation, this isnt firm yet, but i know of a veichle that we could probably borrow for the wedding party, its classic, really cool and would fit with the Sinatra genre of music....57' ford fully restored! it's my friends car, and i know it wouldnt be a problem, its the same car mom and dad and my friends parents grew up in, it's very roomy and cool lookin, i just tried to load it, but of course, its not going to cooperate with me right now, ill try and send it later when i get back from school. But anyways thats just an idea, you could always go classic and get a limo or just go in a regular car. Keep me posted!

Our All-Star Wedding Line Up

Hey Everyone

Wow, its really nice to see everyone posting to blog now. All your ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you ! With everyone's help and support the wedding will be even better. Welcome to our wedding team !

So here is a wedding update for the last day or so:
  • We booked a photographer. Its really nice to get stuff booked
  • We talked to a travel agent and got some really great information on booking our honeymoon to London. That was exciting
  • We talked to a baker about the cake and we have another bakery to look at sometime in the next couple of days
  • Keira lined up another floral appointment for Friday.
So yeah, everything is coming along nicely
- Just a note to Dave and the other wonderful people who are recently joined the blog: if you want to read all the blog entries from the very beginning, you need to look in the February archive because keying in mattkeira.blogspot.com will only show you the past two weeks

-Matt

Back in the Game Again!!!

So i havn't check the blog in a while, it is good to see almost everyone is game in the deal. i'm excited about flower shopping on Friday with Keira, i hope all goes smoothly; i think tulips would be nice and affordable and in season. About the money in a jar, good idea, but not as effective so a small wedding. I like the bubbles or the singing idea, not quite sure. Bill, Erin, and Sam, i'm Game for shopping for dresses on Easter, i'll try to work something out for the Friday (My weekends are hard to miss but if it is necessary to make it for then i will do my best, with enough breathing room). Keira about the cake and decorations, maybe we can get a start on that Friday, look for a place or two, or ask the flourist, they may have a suggestion. Oh and happy Belated B-Day to Keira, yeahhhhhh.
--Tanya

WHOO!

we're gettin manis and pedis!? im gonna have to get some fake nails then cause i dont think you can manicure my nubs:P but anyways the wedding plans seem to be coming along good, Keira lemme know if you need any help with anything, i usually get one or two days off during the week, so just call me or msg me on MSN and we'll squeeze in some time, me you dad matt and tyler are going to dinner for your birthday at the greek house soon, I GOT YOUR PRESENT TOO! tehe had to tell ya that, but anyways, if erin and tanya can get that saturday off ill book it, so lemme know:) tata doll faces

Note...

I just wrote a huge blog (A Big'un) but it showed up a couple down from here... please don't miss it!

title

Hey everyone.
Jill I never even thought of the idea of the jar with money and kissing. Keira I think that is a wonderful idea. Unless you feel like you are milking the guests.. then I think you should stick with bubbles. Oh I wanted people to know that I am not in the wedding party. I can't make it back to BC for the wedding. Its horrible not to be able to watch my bestfriend get married. its nice to see everyone is checking Keiras blog on a regular basis. and I'm happy to see that Matt and Dave have started to write on here as well
Kirsten

I Finally Made It

Hey Guys...just wanted to make sure i am finally a contributer to this thing! hahahaha It has taken me awhile....Keep me posted!

A Bigg'un

Welcome Dave, Bill and Erin and thanks everyone!
Now we're all on board except for Nolan; no word yet from him. Anyway, we have alot to discuss and we've been waiting for everyone to join so we could get down to the nitty gritty stuff that Sam and Bill have recently been mentioning:
Bridesmaid Attire
Sam is here for Easter weekend (March 24-28) and that is the time that me and the girls will choose a bridesmaid dress. The stores may be closed for Easter one or more of those days, so I was thinking Saturday would be a good bet. Sam and I are available any day that weekend so Tanya, Bill and Erin, it's up to you to all get the same day off so we can go together, if you want a say in choosing the dress. I want you all in the same dress but I'm not fussy about what it looks like. Matching shoes would be nice. It's up to you what you want to do about hair; but if you want to join Sam, Tanya and I for a group hairdo on the day of, let me know. Same with mani/pedis the day before at Erin's salon. My salon (I'm not sure about Erin's) is a normal-priced place where a haircut is $30; I'm sure an updo wouldn't be more than that but if you're worried I can call to make sure. Erin, would you do my makeup?
Groomsmen Attire
Matt was thinking that he would go to Moore's to choose a tux/suit; that way Nolan and Dave could be fitted and rent theirs in their own cities, because there are Moores' everywhere. Nolan, Dave, and everyone: you are more than welcome to come and stay at our house any time to visit and/or help us out. We have a spare/computer room and a big air mattress, and we're even kinda fun (says us).
Theme/Look
Sam asked about the look of the wedding. Matt and I have attended OUC for 5 years now (??!!) so we're getting married on-campus and using a scholarly theme for the reception decor, games and invitations. As far as the general "look"; this wedding is very small and rather informal (even though the size of the wedding party would suggest otherwise, haha). The room is nice; it has hardwood floors, couches, its own patio and bar and some greenery. The ceremony will probably be outside of the brick library in front of a flowering tree. Flowers will be minimal but colourful. Maybe tulips? Tanya and I are meeting with some florists on Friday. For pictures we will relocate to a beautiful lake/mountain/forest area just 10 minutes away.
Blog
Since there are so many bloggers now (horray!), I think we should all just post rather than leaving comments on other people's posts. They're hard to navigate through and you have to keep checking for new ones. Please keep checking and blogging all the time; as I mentioned earlier, tomorrow Matt and I are going to start blogging with you guys about who is doing what. We are completing more and more wedding plans literally every day, and your participation is really important from here on!

Thank you everybody!

Introductions

Hey... just thought I should make an appearance on here and introduce myself to anyone who doesn't know me. I'm Dave and also extremly thrilled to be the best man. I'm stuck in Langley for now, but if there's anything I can do to help for here I'm willing and able. I'll be there on the Thursday before the Wedding. Don't forget we need to make time for some all male activities before the big day, which I'm attempting to plan from here... I'll be in touch.

The Little Things....

Alright so I've had a horrible couple of weeks which made me make some down time...which resulted in thinking...tough to imagine I know.....hahaha

Girls - What are we doing about hair? (still no answer), What are we doing about shoes? once we pick out the dresses then we have shoes to worry about.....any thoughts? What are we doing about accessories...?? Do your own thing etc? Key & Matt - these are things you need to think about....what do you want your wedding to look like?

Bridesmaids- Tanya & Kirsten what are your e-mail addresses?

Boys - Have you gone suit or tux shopping yet? Matt - do you know what you want? (Key- or what you want?)Men need to think about it just as much.....

Who else is staying at the campus on the wedding weekend??

Matt & Key - Have you registered anywhere yet? If so, where and under what name....?

Idea

As i was reading through some former blog-thingers, i saw the bubble kissing thingy or having to sing for the bride and groom to kiss, my friends mom informed me that at the last wedding she was at, you had to go up to the bride and groom, and put some money in this jar for them to kiss, at the end of the night the couple had over 600 bucks in there, now, seeing as theres only gonna be about 30 people, that might not work as well, but its an idea none the less :)

I'm Here!

Why hellloo, sorry bah i dont know how to use this thing it just deleted my page! anyways i have gotten so far behind on the wedding stuff all apologies, im going to put work, school music and the b/f slightly aside for a bit and catch up on all the late news. I heard Sams coming up from the 25th to the 28th, i can book time off work anytime on that weekend as long as i give a reasonable amount of heads-up-time of what days i want off. Erin, Tanya, thats where you come in because im guessing its harder for you guys to get days off, just lemme know what days your free and we'll go do the bridesmaid shopping :D this should be exciting, anyways better head 'er, good night!

Gaining Momentum

Yesterday we did some more honeymoon research, then we went to the mall to get our passport photos... and bought our wedding rings!
This week lots of stuff will happen. We're making our deposit on the catering/location today, and will meet later in the week with the caterer and a photographer (Jess' mom). On Friday Tanya and I are meeting with 2 florists.
Another thing on the list for this week is that Matt and I plan to talk to you guys about who is doing what before and during the wedding. Like who will hold the rings, give a toast, pick up the cake etc. We're still waiting for Matt's groomsmen to join and for Bill... has anyone heard from her, cause I haven't! Bill, where are you?! Biiillllllllll!
PS Who wants to choose a baker and/or buy decorations with me?

Yay Erin

Yay, there's Erin! Erin, to become a member of this blog, you have to follow the link that I sent to your erinkeough address. What you did was create your own, separate blog. About your blog not showing up... did you remember to press the big red "publish post" button at the bottom of the screen?
I am totally interested in the mani/pedi group thing... is anyone else on board?

Gracias

Thanks, Sam, for the birthday card!

Streaking Party

I just used that Herbal Essenses highlighting kit... oh, woe is me. I now have a huge bleach-blob front and centre on my head. I tried parting my hair different ways to hide it, but it's no use. I look like Jay Leno in reverse.

My First Blog

Hey everyone

I just wanted to say how proud I am of Keira for setting up this blog. It's an awesome resource for letting everyone know what's going on and it's a great way for everyone to give us wedding ideas.

Keira has been working so hard to make the wedding special, she's a dynamo !
Thanks to everyone for contributing their ideas/concerns/support etc on the blog, its very much appreciated

Kissing

Hey Sam, I like the bubble/kiss idea that you commented on earlier. But didn't the bubbles get into everyone's food?
I was at a wedding where if you wanted the bride and groom to kiss, you had to stand up and sing a line from a song that had the word "love" in it. It was fun to see, and also it made for less kissing.
Any other cool ideas out there?

Welcome Pinky

Tanya, I'm so glad you finally jumped in! A tip for you, since you just started: read the postings from the bottom up, cause the new ones show up on top. Also, there are comments after most of the postings, click on "comment" to read one or leave one. PS I rescheduled the florist appointment for next Friday at noon and also left a message with another florist that was recommeded to me.

Thanks for the hair ideas; I think I agree that my hair should be curly. If anyone comes across a picture of a nice hairdo please send it my way becuase I have no clue. Tanya and Sam are in on the group appointment, and I never hear from Erin and Bill.

Matt's off school next week, so I'm trying to pack it full of the wedding stuff that he should be in on, like picking a cake. You know, the fun parts. Also we're starting to actually pay for stuff, like the deposit on the location. *cringe*

Tanya's Learning

Hello Bridesmaids and Keira,
i am slowly learning how this blog thing works. i hope i am doing it all right. anyways about the hair, i would definatly like to join the getting it done party. i think we should go either down and curly or up and messy. not quite sure, i am definatly open to ideas, i think we should all have it done the same way. Question: how long is our hair (erin, sam, jill)? i think keira should go some kind of curly. talk to you all later. hope this works.
Tanya (new at this).

Groovy Baby, Yeah!

Our latest online purchase arrived in the mail today; it's a five disk dance instructional video. It will teach us every kind of dance: party; 50s; 60s; 70s; 80s; ballroom; latin; wedding; swing; country line; parter beginner, intermediate and advanced. 100 dances in all.
Should be a lark and also a way to get us off our butts. If we have the balls, maybe we'll even show off some moves at the wedding. Do we make you randy baby?

Yummy and Pretty

I hadn't thought about cake toppers; unless we see one that's really groovy, I'm not sure we want one. I think we're going to have strawberry shortcake.

The lady who cut my hair yesterday wants to do my wedding hair! Now I need to figure out a 'do; the practice one yesterday was a bust. Bridesmaids, it's up to you if you want to get your hair done; just tell me asap becuase the salon here said they can take us all at once but May long weekend books up fast!

One of the ladies at the salon is familiar with the caterer for our wedding and she raved on and on about how delicious the food is. Hooray!

Back to Reality

Today my mom called to talk about walking me down the aisle again. She pulled all the stops: crying, begging, guilt tripping, reasoning, demanding and yelling. It was a loooong phonecall and it was hard. Luckily, Sam and Kirsten helped me make a game plan for future calls of that nature (and they will come, she told me). I will not be pushed around anymore.

Later I was in Michael's buying soapmaking stuff and I found those little bottles of bubbles that folks blow on us when we're coming back down the aisle. There was a huge wall of them; they came with tops shaped like little brides and grooms, or butterflies, or other things; some of them came in cake-shaped containers. I just got the plain ones cause they could be opened more easily by the older folks. Aside from the dress, it was the first thing I bought for the wedding. That's one small step for the wedding, one giant leap for me ;)

One Fine Day

Yesterday Matt and I met one of the most interesting people in this world. His name is Rev. Malcolm Smith. He was a Catholic priest for 30 years, during which time he went all over the world and did amazing things, like preaching with the Pope to an audience of 20,000 and marrying 30 couples at once when he lived in Africa for 8 years. When he was 54 years old, he fell in love with a woman; of course as a Catholic priest this was forbidden. Six years ago he left the Catholic church, married the woman, and now they have a 4-year old son.
Now, he performs weddings for people who don't belong to a church or who want a spiritual wedding outside of the church. He says other ministers will turn couples away, unless they join the church and follow rigid procedures.
We talked to Reverend Smith for a couple hours; he is going to officiate our wedding ceremony. He was glad that we're having a small wedding; there were only 20 people at his (no family!) Also he had some great ideas for the ceremony but wants it to be completely what we want. He was wonderful and kind and we left his house feeling happy, supported and excited.

The Mother Load

"The [mother] began to belch out flames and burn bright homesteads; there was a hot glow that scared everyone, for the vile sky-winger would leave nothing alive in her wake." ( Beowulf)

Yesterday my mother told me that she thinks she should walk me down the aisle.

Later, Matt's mother called him. she asked if we would postpone the wedding; when Matt gets married he will no longer be on her dental plan, so maybe he should get some dental work done first.

Something....

Old, Blue, New and Borrowed......

Any thoughts to help Keira out???

I'm coming up!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be in Winfield staying with the soon-to-be bride and groom....from March 25 - 28 (Easter weekend).

Hopefully we can all get together one afternoon for a brainstorming lunch or something!

Bridesmaids....

Hello Erin, Tanya and Jill.....

Wow, can't believe we're going to be bridesmaids!! How exciting! Anyways just wondering what everyone was thinking in regards to hair.....were you all thinking of getting your hair done?

Friday, February 11, 2005

Etc.

Thank you Kirsten, for that nice comment you made and for being so helpful. As for that annonymous comment; hmm... I wonder who it was...
Anyway today Tanya and I went into Kelowna and made appointments with two florists for next Friday. On that day, I'll choose and book the flowers (good, I don't really care about them). Do you know how expensive flowers are? It's astounding. Like $60 for each little flowery thing that the men wear in their pocket.
Also I'm doing some research on honeymoons to Europe. It is the first time I have been pleasantly surprised by the cost of anything wedding-related.
On another note, my eyes have been red and glazed over the entire day and I look like the living dead. Has this ever happened to anyone?

Buenos Dias

Hi everyone,
the Team Sugar wedding is in 3 months and with friends and Bridal Party members scattered across the province and beyond, this seems like a handy way to keep everyone up-to-date.
Here's the scoop: the wedding is on Saturday, May 21 (of May long weekend). The wedding party is made up of Sam, Bill, Erin, Tanya, Dave, and Nolan. We have got the locations, caterer, Reverend, dress, and ideas for the theme. Believe it or not, that is only a fraction of what needs to be done!
We are meeting with the Reverend on Monday and need to bring ideas for the ceremony. If you have ideas for something unique to us, or just really cool, or you want to do a reading, please let us know!
I also have booked accomodations and need to know who's using them. If I haven't sent you the chart of rooms and prices, let me know and I will.
